Your plants deserve more than a windowsill.

TerraSens is developing a light for growing plants indoors.

  • ≈500 µmol/m²/s under the lamp

On the windowsill ≈100. These are the basil plants in the photos above. Measured at leaf height with the Photone app.

  • No purple glare

Typical grow lamps glow purple. This light comes from deep-red and warm-white full-spectrum LEDs.

  • Designed and made in Croatia

From milling to assembly, inside the European Union.

What is PPFD?

PPFD (photosynthetic photon flux density) measures how much of the light plants use for photosynthesis actually reaches the leaf, in µmol per m² per second.

Both basil plants are the same cultivar and grew in identical pots, so the light is what makes the difference in the photos.

Hypothesis 01

'Red Rubin' basil only shows its deep purple under strong light. We're testing whether the selected LEDs and their arrangement in our lamp deliver enough of it, on a kitchen shelf, with no greenhouse.

Grow tests · in progress

Three plants that can't hide bad light.

We picked plants that show straight away when the light is wrong. Every test result is published here.

'Red Rubin' basil under the TerraSens light

    'Red Rubin' basil

    Ocimum basilicum 'Red Rubin'

Turns deep purple only with enough light. At ≈100 PPFD it stays green with purple veins; at ≈500 it goes dark.

    'Purple Ball' basil

    Ocimum basilicum 'Purple Ball'

Grows as a tight purple globe. Under weak light it stretches, falls apart and loses its colour.

The idea behind TerraSens

What the lamp is made of
and where it takes shape.

Our lamp is not an import with a logo stuck on it. We design and make it in Croatia, from milling to assembly, inside the European Union.

For every material in the lamp, we know what it is made of and where it comes from.

European beech, a linseed-oil finish with no solvents, milled aluminium instead of moulded plastic, organic soil and organic feed for the plants we test on.

Standards the lamp is designed to meet

Testing is under way.

The declaration of conformity will be published before the first delivery.

CE
Conformity assessment before the first unit ships
RoHS
Electronics without restricted substances

These are the standards the design is built to. The signed declarations follow before the first lamps ship.

Grow tests

Follow every test, from seed to result.

The first lamps are planned for Q1 2027. Followers see the design first and get the result of every test: one email per test.
